My investigative piece looked at how city employees used cell phone tax payers funded. I found most employees didn't use their phones, yet the tax payers were still paying monthly bills.

My enterprise story found three registered sex offenders teaching at Ohio State - one with unsupervised office hours.

Scripps Howard, Top Ten Scholar 2008

That's me with Ms. Sue Porter, the VP of the Scripps Howard Foundation, at the 2009 National SPJ conference in Indianapolis.

I was named one of the ten best college journalism students in the country in 2008. The honor came along with a $10,000 scholarship. Colleges could only nominate one student, who demonstartes an interest in a career in journalism as well as high academic achievement, has strong recommendations, and submit a personal essay. They are destined to parlay their scholarships into careers that make a permanent impression on journalism and democracy.

Ohio Newspaper Association, Women's Scholarhip 2008
I am a proud recipient of the 2008 Ohio Newspaper Association's Women's Scholarship. The $1,500 scholarship is given to a junior or senior in an Ohio college or university and majoring in journalism.

The scholarship was based on two college professor recommendations, transcript of grades, three to four newspaper clips and a personal essay.

Memorial Golf Tournament, Journalism Scholarship 2008
Jack Nicklaus said it was important for athletes to have a good relationship with the media. He started the Memorial Golf Tournament Journalism Scholarship to recognize student journalists. I was honored to be selected as the former Buckeye's pick for the scholarship in 2008.
